her home on the same road towards
Aishwarya's college. If Aishwarya's speed
was 4 km per hour and Ananya's was

According to question

Time = \dfrac{Distance}{Speed}

So, For Aishwarys

t = \dfrac{d}{S}

Or,  t =   \dfrac{d km}{4 km/h}

Or,   t = \dfrac{d}{4}  hours             ...........1

So, For Ananya

t = \dfrac{53-d}{s}

Or,  t =   \dfrac{(53-d) km}{3 km/h}

Or,   t = \dfrac{53-d}{3}  hours             ...........2

From eq 1 and eq 2

\dfrac{53-d}{3}  =  \dfrac{d}{4}

Cross multiplication

4 ( 53 - d ) = 3 d

Or,  212 - 4 d = 3 d

Or,  7 d = 212

∴        d = \dfrac{212}{7}

i.e      d = 30.2 km

So, The distance travel by Aishwarys = d = 30.2 km

And The distance travel by Ananya = D - d = ( 53 - 30.2 ) = 19.8 km

Hence, The distance travel by Aishwarys is 30.2 km

And The distance travel by Ananya is 19.8 km  Answer
