Number of people don’t like either of them are 80 or 8%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : An Ice-cream cafe has 200 customers every day. 60% of them like vanilla flavor and 80% of them like mango flavor.

To find : What is the probability, if one of the customers selected randomly and asked which flavor does he/she likes and they don’t like either of them?

Solution :

Number of people like vanilla flavor is 60% of 200.

i.e. \frac{60}{100}\times 200=120

Number of mango flavor is 80% of 200.

i.e. \frac{80}{100}\times 200=160

So, we have

n(V)=120, n(M)=160, n(V\cup M)=200

We know that,

n(V\cup M) = n(V) + n(M) - n(V\cap M)

Substitute the values,

200=120+160- n(V\cap M)

n(V\cap M)=280-200

n(V\cap M)=80

Number of people don’t like either of them are 80 or 8%.
