an ice cube floats in a glass of water. as the ice melts,how does the level of water in the glass change? would it make difference if the ice cube were hollow? explain

When the ice cube melts, the level of the water increases in the glass because ice cubes (solid) are made up of water but in a solid form and when they melt they turn back into their original form that is water ( liquid).
