  • By the Archimedes' principle When an ice block is floating on water, the amount of water displaced by the ice is equal to the mass of the ice.

  • As we know that mass of ice is conserved, Ice and water both have same mass but have different volume.

  • Thus when ice melts, the level of water will remain unchanged.
