An ideal diode is one which behaves as a perfect (a) conducter when forward biased
Conducter:
The substance which permits heat and electricity to flow through them are called as conducters.
Ideal Diode:
- A diode is called an ideal diode when it acts like a perfect conductor when a forward biased voltage is applied and like a perfect insulator when a reverse biased voltage is applied.
- Hence when positive voltage is applied across the direction of the anode to the cathode, the diode will conduct forward current immediately.
- Correspondingly when the voltage is applied in the reverse direction, the diode would not conduct any current at all, even if the voltage is very high.
