Given :

For silicon diode ,

Power dissipated = 4 watts

The value of forward DC current = I_F = 2 Amp

To Find :

The value of Bulk resistance of the diode

Solution :

Forward Voltage across the diode   = \dfrac{power dissipates}{Forwar current}

                                                          = \dfrac{5 watt}{2 Amp}

                                                          = 2.25 volts

∵  The forward breakdown voltage of a silicon diode = 0.6 volts

Bulk resistance voltage = 2.25 - 0.6

                                        = 1.66

Bulk resistance = \dfrac{Bulk resistance voltage}{forward current}

                          = \dfrac{1.66 volts}{2 Amp}

                          = 0.83 ohm

Hence, The value of Bulk resistance is 0.83 ohms . Answer
