an incident ray makes an angle of 35 degree with the surface of a plane mirror.what is the angle of reflection?

35

The angle of reflection = The angle of incidence

=( 90 - 35) degree

= 55 degree.

Hence, Angle of reflection = 55 degree.

Given:

The angle of incidence  with the surface= 35°

To Find:

Angle of reflection

Solution:

∵ The angle of incidence with the surface is 35°

∴ The angle of incidence of the incident ray = (90-35)°

                                                                          =55°

According to the law of Reflection:

''when light falls upon a plane surface it is so reflected that the angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence and that the incident ray, reflected ray, and normal ray all lie in the plane of incidence''.

So, the angle of incidence = angle of reflection

Hence, the angle of reflection is 55°.
