Increase in nuclear change means only charge on nucleus is increase not increase in negative charge, hence positively charge nucleus attracts electrons towards it and size of an atom reduces. Actually there is decrease in no. of electrons and no. of protons is same. Hence we say there is increase in nuclear charge instead of saying that decrease in no. of electrons.
