An increase in the temperature of the water body results in the change in the solubility of different impurities.

Explanation:

  • There are many impurities which act as pollutants but do not dissolve in water since they only dissolve in hot water.
  • Also these impurities settle at the bottom of the stream .
  • However when the temperature of the water source is slightly increased they dissolve in water and cause much severe water pollution.  Hence temperature is a determinant of water pollution.
