Nothing happens when pushing with a finger because its not sharp like the pointed tip.

Answer:Always when surface area of the object is lesser, the pressure is greater and when surface area of the object increases, the pressure decreases .
So when we use the pencil ,that balloon bursts but not in the case of when we use our fingers.
(Hint - pressure = thrust/area)
