Because of the outer pressure in the atmosphere, it strikes on the walls of the balloon from outside thus all the gas is released slowly

Reason why particle of air goes out of balloon.
An inflated balloon goes becomes smaller even though knot at mouth of balloon is airtight. It is because the air molecules have the ability to diffuse through the surface.
The molecules present in the air which is filled inside the balloon have kinetic energy and is always in motion. As they move faster they exert pressure on the surface of the balloon and keep diffusing out it.
