An ink container of cylindrical shape is filled with ink upto 71%. Ball pen refills of length

12 cm and inner diameter 2 mm are filled upto 84%. If the height and radius of the ink

container are 14 cm and 6 cm respectively, find the number of refills that can be filled with this ink

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of cylindrical ink container = πr²h

                                                          = 22/7 * 6² * 14

                                                          = 1584 cm³

Amount of ink filled in the container = 1584 * 71/100

                                                             = 1124.64 cm³

Volume of refill = πr²h

                          = 22/7 * 0.1² * 12    ....   (d=2mm ∴ r= 1mm = 0.1cm)

                           =0.3771cm³

Amount of ink filled in refill = 0.3771*84/100

                                             = 0.3167cm³

No. of refills that can be filled with this ink = capacity of ink pot/capacity of

                                                                                   refill

                                                                         = 112.64/0.3167

                                                                         = 355.667 ≈ 356

Approximately 356 refills can be filled with the ink pot
