From given, we have,
Thickness of the glass slab (d) = 60 cm
Refractive Index of the glass slab (μ) = 1.5
We use the formula,
μ = d/d1
1.5 = 60/d1
d1 = 60/1.5
∴ d1 = 40 cm
Now consider,
The shifting of the image of the spot is given by,
h = d - d1
= 60 - 40
= 20 cm.
Hence, the shifting of image of the spot will be 20 cm.
