Given mass of Na = 29.1
Given mass of S= 40.5
Given mass of O=30.4
No of moles of Na= 0.79
No of moles of S = 1.26
No of moles of O= 1.9
Dividing the no of moles by the smallest number
Na=0.79/0.79=1
S= 1.26/0.79=1.6
O=1.9/0.79=2.4
Now dividing these numbers by 5 to obtain a whole number
Na=1×5=5
S=1.6×5=8
O=2.4×5=12
So the empirical formula is Na5S8O12

manvinderkaur20: plz mark it as brainliest
harsnig: guys... when 29.1/23 gives 1.26 moles how can it come 0.79 plus i also do not understand why is everything at last multiplied by 5
manvinderkaur20: hmm.. u r right.. thanks for the attention..
manvinderkaur20: And sorry for the wrong answer i have posted
harsnig: no issues actually i am not getting the ans. even after ryt calculation if u get it plz plz post it thanks a lot
manvinderkaur20: actually.. moles of na will be 1.26, moles of s= 1.26 and moles of o = 1.9....... on dividing these moles with the smallest number we get 1, 1, 1.5 for na, s, o respectively
manvinderkaur20: and to get the whole number we will divide these numbers with 2.. and we'll get 2,2,3 for na, s, o respectively
manvinderkaur20: so the formula will be... na2s2o3
manvinderkaur20: i can't post the answer here.. so u have to upload the question again.. only then i will be able to answer the correct answer
harsnig: i got it thanks................
