Given:

  • Time taken of the insect to travell the circular clock = 20min
  • Diameter of circular = 20cm

To find:

  • Displacement & distance

Solution:

Here ,

Distance = Circumference of clock

Because , the insect travells around the clock.

Displacement = diameter

Because , let us assume the starting point of insect be A & the final point where the insect ends be B . Here, the insect travells 1 round so , joing the initial point to final point (A-B) because , displacement : shortest distance from initial point to final point .

Now ,

Distance = circumference

Circumference = πd

d is diameter

Circumference = 22/7 × 20

Distance = 62.85

Displacement = diameter = 20cm
