Given:

An insect moving along a straight line, (without returning) travels in every second distance equal to tha magnitude of time elapsed.

To find:

Magnitude of Initial velocity of insect.

Calculation:

Since distance travelled is equal to the time elapsed , the Equation of motion will be:

 \therefore \: x = t

 =  > v =  \dfrac{dx}{dt}

 =  > v =  \dfrac{d(t)}{dt}

 =  > v =  1 \: m {s}^{ - 1}

 =  > a =  \dfrac{dv}{dt}

 =  > a =  \dfrac{d(1)}{dt}

 =  > a =  0 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

So, Velocity is constant and without any acceleration.

Hence , initial velocity is 1 m/s.
