an insect trapped in a circular Groove of radius 12cm moves along the groove steady and complete 7 revolution in 100 sec what is the angular and linear speed of insect during circular motion

Given that,

r = 12cm = 0.12m

1. Angular speed = 7 revolution in 100s  (since, 1 revolution = 2*3.14*r)

= 7*(2*3.14*0.12)/(100)

= 0.053 rad/s

 

Linear speed, v =  Angular speed *radius

=> v = 0.053*0.12 = 6.3*10-3 m/s =0.63 cm/s

2. Value of acceleration is constant here and always acts towards the center.

It is given by

a = v2/r = 0.033 cm/s2.
