To find the maximum number of boys receiving the gift, find the HCF of number of balls and bats.

180 = 2*2*3*3*5
84 = 2*2*3*7

HCF = 2*2*3 = 12

So maximum number of boys receiving gifts is 12.
Each will receive
180/12 = 15 bats
84/12 = 7 balls

Answer:

The greatest number of boys receiving the gift  = 12boys

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The number of bats and balls to be distributed = 180 and 84

To find,

The greatest number each person receives

Solution:

The greatest number of bats and balls each person is getting = HCF of 180 and 84

180 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 5

84 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 7

HCF of 180 and 84 = 2 × 2 × 3 = 12

The greatest number of boys receiving the gift equally  = 12boys

Hence we can say that the bat and balls are divided equally among 12 boys

and each boy is getting \frac{180}{12} = 15bats and \frac{84}{12} = 7 balls
