Hi ,

Number of total possible

outcomes = 50 ---( 1 )

Multiples of 5 from 1 to 50 = { 5 , 10,

15 , 20 , 25 , 30 , 35 , 40 , 45 , 50}

Multiples of 7 from 1 to 50 = { 7 , 14 ,

21 , 28 , 35 , 42 , 49 }

Common multiple = 35

Therefore ,

Favorable outcomes = { 5 , 7 , 10 ,14 ,

15 , 20 , 21 , 25 , 28 , 30 , 35 , 40 , 42 ,

45, 49 , 50 }

Number of favourable

outcomes = 16 ---( 2 )

P( multiple of 5 or 7 ) = ( 2 )/( 1 )

= 16/50

= 8/25

I hope this helps you.
