An integrated structural factors for woven fabrics

Fabric weave is a fabric-structure factor that can be represented merely graphically or as the two-dimensional matrix of the digits 1 and 0. Its estimation is very complicated if the results of experiments are generalised. Hence often only the variable properties of fabrics for specified weaves are explained, avoiding the generalisation of research results. A part of these investigations for this generalisation uses various factors, starting from the average float length and finishing with original factors. The proposed weave-firmness factor in the first part of this series differs from the previous factors used in that it can be calculated from the weave matrix, it estimates the interlacing of adjacent threads, and it is closely related to an integrated fabric-structure factor suggested in the second part, which is called the fabric-firmness factor.
