Answer:

If an inlet pipe takes 4 hrs to fill and an outlet pipe takes 6 hrs to empty then when both the pipes are open then the tank will be half-filled in 6 hrs. Also, an outlet pipe takes 6 hrs to empty the tank. Thus, the tank will be half-filled in 6 hours.

Answer:

Time taken by the intel pipe to fill the tank = 10 hr

Work done in 1hr= 1/10

Time taken by the outlet pipe to empty the tank= 15hr

Work done in 1 hr= 1/15

∴ Time taken for the tank to be filled= 1/10 - 1/15 = 1/30 = 30 hrs

∴ Time taken for the tank to be half filled= 15 hrs

HOPE IT HELPS!!
