because ionic compound made up of anion (positive i0n) and cation(negative) by ionic bond .these equal and opposite charges balance each other therefore ionic compound are electricity nuetral.

An atom/radical lose or gain electron to complete their octect. Similarly, ionic compounds have also earlier completed their octets by either sharing, gaining or losing of electrons.

All the elements tends to complete their octet but once they complete their octet, they do not react with other metals or radicals. This is the case with all the noble ( inert ) gases, the ionic compounds, ions and radicals.

So, we can say that an ionic compound do not react with other elements and they have equal number of anions and cations so they are said to be electrically neutral.
