An iron article is shiny when it is new,
but after some days some changes occur.

A new iron article is shiny but after some days its colour changes to brownish red due to a process called rusting.

since the iron is being exposed to atmosphere ,the oxygen and moisture in the air oxidizes the iron article and this process is called rusting.

it is not effective to us it only makes the iron weaker

This can be stopped by painting it or coating it with a layer of zinc which itself gets rusted but prevents the iron from getting rusted
