An iron ball has an air space unit,the ball weighs 1kg in air and 0.6kg in water.Find the volume of air space.Density of iron is 7200kg/m^3?

Let w1 & w2 be the weights in air & space , let m1 & m2 be the masses in air & space ,

⇒ W1 = m1g
⇒ 1 = m1 × 9.8

⇒ m1 = 1/9.8 = 0.102 kg

Similarly calculating m2

⇒ m2 = w2/g = 0.6 / 9.8 = 0.061 kg

Total mass of ball in air-space = 0.102 + 0.061 = 0.163 kg

⇒ Now , D = m/V

⇒ V = m/D = 0.163 / 7200 = 0.00002267 m³
