Relative density of an iron ball will be 3.67
Given-
- Weight of an iron ball in air = 11 kg
- Weight of an iron ball when it is immersed in water = 8 kg
We know that the relative density of an object can also be defined as its weight in air divided by the difference of its weight in air and its weight when the object is submerged in water.
From the above definition we can say that
D = Wa / Wa - Ww
By substituting the values we get
D = 11/11-8 = 11/3 = 3.67
So the relative density of iron ball is 3.67.
