An iron bar of length 0.1 m and area of cross section 0.02 m2 and a brass bar of length 0.2 m and

area of cross section 0.02 m2 are soldered together end to end. The free ends of the iron bar and

brass bar are maintained at 100 oC and 0 oC respectively. The thermal conductivities of iron and

brass are 79 W m-¹ K
-¹ and 109 W m-¹K

respectively. Calculate the temperature of the

iron – brass junction. Also find the heat current through the compound bar.

9 } Sol :— Given that

P (x) = 6x³ + 13x² + 3

g (x) = 3x + 2 = 0

:— 3x = 0 –2

3x = —2

x = —2/3

so, x = —2/3

put the value ...

p (—2/3) = 6 x (—2/3)³ + 13 x (—2/3)² + 3

= 6x —8/27 + 13 x 4/9 + 3

= —16/9 + 52/9 + 3/1

we will take LCM got = 9

= —16+52+27 / 9

= —16+79 / 9

= 63/8 Sol :— 7 Ans...

11 } Sol :— p(x) = 2x³+3x²—11x—3

g(x) = x + 1/2

:— x = —1/2

put the value ...

p(—1/2) = 2x (—1/2)³+ 3x (—1/2)²—11x (—1/2) —3

= 2x (—1/8) + 3x (1/4) —11x (—1/2) —3

= 2 x—1/8 + 3/4 — (—11) /2 —3

= —1/4 + 3/4 + 11/2 —3/1

we will take LCM got = 4

= —1 +3 +22 —12 / 4

= —1 +25 —12 / 4

= 24 — 12 / 4

= 12 / 4 Sol :— 3 Ans...

Hope it may help you...
