An Iron nail sinks in water but floats on mercury why?

Hi

Iron has more density than water due to which it sinks.

On the other side, mercury has more density than iron .Therefore the iron nail floats.

the iron nail sinks in water because the density of the nail is greater than that of water. but the same nail will float in mercury because the density of mercury is greater than that of the nail. in other words, the up thrust or buoyant force of mercury is greater than that of water.
