An iron sphere of density 8 gm/cc weighs 29 gm in air. Calculate its weight in water?

Answer:

it shall loose its weight to Upthrust.

Upthrust Force is : weight of volume of water displaced by submerged object = 29 /8 × 1 = 3.625

so Mass will appear like 29-3.625 = 25.375 gm Force
