Let the length of the isosceles triangle be x cm.

Given, Area = 32 cm^2.

We know that Area of triangle = 1/2 * b * a

                                  32 = 1/2 * x^2

                                   x^2 = 64

                                     x = 8.

So, perpendicular = base = 8cm.

By Pythagoras theorem, We know that Length = P^2 + B^2

                                                                              = 64 + 64

                                                                              = 128

                                                                        L = 8 root 2  or 11.3cm.

Hope this helps!
