as it is an isosceles triangle here base = height

so the formula will be : 1/2×base×base

let the base be x

so ,

 \frac{1}{2} \times   {x}^{2}   = 8 \\  \\  {x}^{2}  = 8 \times 2 \\  \\  {x}^{2}  = 16 \\ \\ x =  \sqrt{16} = 4 \\ x = 4

hypotenuse = root (base square+ base square )
