Area of a triangle =

                               √s (s-a) (s-b) (s-c)

                               (Heron's Formula)

Semiperimeter = 6 + 5 + 5 / 2 = 8

Area = √8 (8-6) (8-5) (8-5)

        = √8 * 2 * 3 * 3

        = √144 = 12 cm²
