Let the unequal side be x

Perimeter of Triangle is sum of it's sides.

Therefore,

12+12+x = 30

24 + x = 30

x = 30-24

x = 6

area \:  =  \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}  \\  \\ s \:  =  \frac{30}{2}  = 15 \\  \\  a = 12 \\ b = 12 \\ c = 6 \\  \\  \sqrt{15(15 - 12)(15 - 12)(15 - 6)}  \\  \\  \sqrt{15 \times 3 \times 3 \times 9}  \\  \\  \sqrt{1215}  \\  \\ 9 \sqrt{15}   \:  {cm}^{2}
