An object, 1 m tall is placed at a distance of 40 m from a plane mirror.


(i) What is the height of the image?


(ii) What is the distance between the image and the object?

Explanation:

height of image is always equal to the height of object in a plane mirror. Therefore , height if image = 1 meter. In plane mirror distance between object and mirror and distance between mirror and image is also equal . Thus , distance between image and object = 2 × 40 = 80 cm
