Given:-

  • Height of object (h) = 4 cm

  • Distance of object (u) = -36 cm

  • Distance of Image (v) = -18 cm

To Find:-

  • Height of Image (h')

Formula used:-

  • {\boxed{m = \dfrac{h'}{h} = \dfrac{-v}{u}}}

Solution:-

\implies\:\dfrac{h'}{h} = \dfrac{-v}{u}

\implies\: \dfrac{h'}{4} = \dfrac{-(-18)}{-36}

\implies\: \dfrac{h'}{4} = \dfrac{-18}{36}

\implies\: \dfrac{h'}{4} = \dfrac{-1}{2}

\implies\: h'= \dfrac{-4}{2}

{\boxed{\implies\:h' = -2}}

Hence, The Height of the Image is 2 cm below the principal focus.
