Answer:

Given things: Length of object, O = 5cm

Distance from object, u = 20cm (negative)

Radius of curvature, r = 30cm

f = r/2

 = 30/2

 = 15cm (positive)

Now :

1/f = 1/v - 1/u

1/15 = 1/v - ( 1/-20)

==> v = 8.57cm (positive)

The image is formed at a distance of 8.57 cm behind the convex mirror. Thus, it is virtual and erect.

m = - v/u

m = -8.75/(-20)

   = 0.4

Also, m = I/O

0.4 = I/5

0.4 X 5 = I

So, I = 2cm

Thus, the height of an image is 2 cm.

Thus, we can say that the image is diminished.
