Formula to be used : Second equation of motion

S = ut + 1 / 2 gt²

S refers to height, U refers to initial velocity, t refers to time and g refers to gravity.

S = 5 m ; t = 5 seconds ; U = 0 m / s ( As object is dropped from rest )

Substituting in the equation we get,

5 m = 0 * 5 + 1 / 2 * g * 5²

5 m = 0 + 25 / 2 * g

5 m = 25 * g / 2

=> 5 m * 2 / 25 = g

=> 10 m / 25 second² = g

=> g = 0.4 m/s²
