An object 50cm tall is placed on tge principal axis of a convex lens. Its 20cm tall image is formed on the screen placed at a distance of 10cm

from the lens. Calculate the focal length of tye lens.

I know how to find out tge answer.

All I need to check is whether my answer ia correct or not

Ur answer is correct..........

Solution:

Height of the image(h')= -20cm

Height of the object(h)= 50cm

Image dist(v)= 10cm

Magnification(m)= h'/h= v/u

=> -20/50=10/u

=> u= -25cm..........

W.K.T,

1/v-1/u= 1/f

=> 1/10-1/-25

=> 1/10+1/25= 7/50cm

=> f= 50/7cm
