Average speed = (speed in 1st interval + speed in 2nd interval) ÷ 2

We know that ,

Speed = distance/time.

Speed of object in 1st interval = 20/5= 4 m/s

Speed of object in 2nd interval = 20/4= 5 m/s

Average velocity =(v+u) /2

=(4+5)/2

=4.5 m/s
