An object covers half the distance with the speed of 20 m/s and other half with a speed of 30 m/s. Find the average speed? Explain terms.

let the distance covered be 100m
then the object covers 50m with a speed of 20m/s.
Time taken in 1st case = 5/2 s
and the object covers and other 50m with a speed of 30m/s.
Time taken in 2nd case = 5/3 s

we know that, average speed = total distance / total time = 100/(5/2 + 5/3) = 100/(25/6) = 24

HENCE, YOUR ANSWER IS 24 m/s
