Given : An object has initial velocity vo = 2i ms-1.

It is given an acceleration a = 2i-3j ms-2.

To Find : Its speed after 1 second

Solution:

V = U + at

U = initial velocity  = 2i m/s

a = acceleration = 2i-3j m/s²

t = time = 1 sec

V = final velocity ( here velocity after 1 sec)

V = 2i + (2i - 3j)(1)

=> V = 2i + 2i - 3j

=> V = 4i - 3j

Speed = √4² +(-3)²  = √16 + 9 = √25 = 5  m/s

speed after 1 second   is 5 m/s
