this can happen in the case if an object after moving through a distance comes back to its original position.
for example boy moves 2 km from point A moves to a point B and returns back to point A. then the distance moved will be 4 km but the displacement will be zero .

If the object moves in a circular path completing revolutions as integral multiples of distance,then it has zero displacement as it reaches its starting point but some distance is covered in that process.
