Solution!!
We know that the displacement of an object is the shortest distance between the initial and final position. Now, if the initial position and the final position are same then the displacement is zero.
Now, suppose that a 400 metre race is about to begin. The athlete has to run from the starting position which means that he is covering some distance. Now, he has to cover the circular track and finish the race where he started which means that his final position and initial position are same. Hence, the displacement will be zero.
