an object initially at rest accelerates at 10 metre per second square for 4 second and then decelerates at 5 metre per second square to come to rest find Total distance travelled and time for the deceleration​

Answer:

S= ut +0.5at²

0-4 sec

u=o ( given)

so s= 80 m

at t=4 sec

velocity is

v= u +at

v= 40 m/s

now this v become u for the second phase of motion

v²= u² +2as

final velocity is zero (car stops at last )

and u =40 m/s

and a=-5 m/s²

S = 160 m

total distance = 80 +160 m
