Answer :
Distance of object = 5cm
Focal length = 10cm
Type of mirror = convex
We have to find distance of image and magnification
★ Focal length of convex mirror is taken positive and that of concave mirror is taken negative.
Distance of image can easily be calculated by using mirror formula which is given by
- 1/u + 1/v = 1/f
u denotes distance of object
v denotes distance of image
f denotes focal length
By substituting the values, we get
➠ 1/(-5) + 1/v = 1/10
➠ 1/v = 1/10 + 1/5
➠ 1/v = 3/10
➠ v = 10/3
➠ v = 3.33 cm
★ Magnification :
➙ m = -v/u
➙ m = -3.33/(-5)
➙ m = 0.67
★ Type of image :
- Virtual
- Erect
- Short
