The size of image is exactly half the object ,that implies,the magnification m=0.5 i.e. -v/u=(-0.5) i.e. u=-2v

Apply the mirror formula

1/v + 1/u=1/f

1/v — 1/(2v) = 1/10 (reason:u=-2v)

1/(2v) = 1/10

i.e. v=5 & u=-2v=-10

So,object should be placed at 10cm in front of the mirror
