Given:

The increase in the mass of the object = 9.1 gm

To Find:

(1) The no of electrons transferred.

(2) The value and nature of the charge.

Calculation:

(1) The mass of 1 electron = 9.1 × 10⁻³¹ kg

⇒ The no of electrons, n = 9.1/9.1 × 10⁻³¹ kg

n = 10³¹

(2) The charge Q is given as:

Q = ne

⇒ Q = 10³¹ × 1.6 × 10⁻¹⁹

Q = 1.6 × 10¹² C

- As the electrons are transferred to the object, it acquires a negative charge.

- So, 10³¹ electrons and 1.6 × 10¹² C of negative charge were given to the object.
