An object is kept at a distance of 40 cm from a diverging lens of a focal length 20cm. At what distance the image is formed from the lens? Find the magnification of the image.​

and v=40cm

v1−u1=f1

⟹401−u1=201

⟹u1=40−1

⟹u=−40cm
