Height =distance covered =300 m=S.
 s = ut +  \frac{1}{2}a {t}^{2}
a=10 ms^-2. initially the object is at rest so u=0.
300=0(t)+1/2(10)t^2
=> 300=5t^2
=> 60=t^2
=> 2√15=t
=> t=2(3.873)
=> t=7.746 seconds is the time taken by the object to the ground.

different29: why acceleration is taken as 10 m /s^2
praneethks: it is a approx value for acceleratio due to gravity. actual value of acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 ms^-2.
different29: ok thanks
