Given:

  • Distance covered before= 40km
  • Time taken by object before= 5 sec

  • Distance next covered by object=80 km
  • Next time taken = 5 sec

To Find :

  • Average speed of the object

Formula used :

Average  \: speed  =  \frac{total \: distance \: }{total \: time}

Solution :

Total distance covered by the object

= 40 +80km

= 120 km

Conversions :

1 km = 1000 m

120 km = 120 ×1000 = 1,20,000 m

And,

Total time taken by the object

= 5 + 5 second

= 10 seconds

Therefore,

Average \:  speed  =  \frac{120000}{10}  = 12000 \: m {s}^{ - 1}

✰Question ✰

⋄An object is moving 40km in 5sec after that 80km in 5sec what is its average speed.

_______________________________

❍ Given :-

⋄ Total distance covered by object =40+80=120km =120×1000=120000m

⋄ Total time taken by object =5+5=10s

❍ To Find:-

▪ Average speed of object.

_______________________________

❍Solution :-

⋄ Average speed =Total distance /Total time taken

Av. speed = 120000/10

Av.speed=12000m/s.

∴The average speed of object is 12000m/s.
