WHY?

okay let me explain you:

Acceleration means the rate of change of velocity with time.

Now, velocity can change due to two reasons:

1. Change in magnitude.

2. Change in direction.

In our case the magnitude is the same. =5m/s

but the direction do not remain the same because at any point in a circular path it's direction is tangent to that point.

so the velocity changes and hence acceleration occurs.
